Se anuncian las nominaciones en Cine a los Critics Choice Awards 2023

Con 14 nominaciones, cinco de ellas para actores, Everything Everywhere All at Once, de A24, es la película más nominada en la 28ª edición de los Critics Choice Awards. The Fabelmans, de Steven Spielberg, fue la siguiente, consiguiendo también cinco nominaciones para su reparto de un total de 11, incluyendo tres para Spielberg como productor, director y coguionista de su historia autobiográfica.

Paramount también regresó a lo grande a los premios, con 9 nominaciones para Babylon, la oda de Damien Chazelle al Hollywood decadente de la era del cine mudo y de las primeras películas de cine sonoro, entre ellas las de mejor película, director y actriz para Margot Robbie. El estudio también obtuvo seis nominaciones por Top Gun: Maverick, incluyendo mejor película y mejor actor para Tom Cruise. Searchlight fracasó con su gran esperanza, Empire of the Light de Sam Mendes (sólo una nominación a la fotografía), pero obtuvo la impresionante cifra de 9 nominaciones, cinco de ellas a la interpretación, por The Banshees of Inisherin, de Martin McDonagh, que continúa su racha de premios.

Además de las películas mencionadas, entre las 11 nominadas a la Mejor Película -hubo un empate exacto en el último puesto- también figuran Avatar: The Way of Water, de James Cameron, con seis nominaciones en total, incluida la de Mejor Director por la secuela de la película más taquillera de todos los tiempos de 2009, que se estrenó el viernes; Elvis, con siete nominaciones, incluida la de Actor para Austin Butler y la de Director para Baz Luhrmann; Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, de Rian Johnson, con seis; la sensación india RRR, con cinco, entre ellas las de director para S. S. Rajamouli y película de habla no inglesa; Tár, de Focus Features, con siete, entre ellas la de mejor actriz para Cate Blanchett; y Women Talking, que obtuvo muy buenos resultados con seis, entre ellas las de directora y guión adaptado para Sarah Polley.
